Forward Ellie May joined the club in the summer of 2023 after several seasons playing towards the top end of the FA Women's National League.

May played for Burnley last season under current United head coach Jonathan Morgan where she was a regular in the team and the season previous her performances helped Derby County to a second-place finish.

May is a graduate of the Rams academy and also had a spell at Leicester City before heading off to play for Rider University in the USA.

May has also been capped at under 17 and under 18 level for England.
