Left-back Abbie Lafayette joined United in the summer of 2024 after a season with Watford in the Barclays Women's Championship.

A defender who likes to get forward, Lafayette progressed through the ranks at Ipswich Town and was part of an impressive team in the FA Women's National League before stepping up a level with the Hornets last season, where her performances led her to being signed by new head coach Ash Thompson ahead of the new season.
