Versatile forward Alfie Atherton signed for the Blades last summer from Oldham Athletic, where he'd had a regular taste of first team football.

Atherton scored a spectacular volley on his first outing at Bramall Lane early on last season, before duelling his academy programme with a successful non-league loan at Peterborough Sports, coming back to score in the Professional Development League National semi-final at the end of the season.
