United's second addition of 2025 saw the club invest a substantial undisclosed fee for Republic of Ireland international Cannon, who put pen-to-paper on a deal until 2029, with the option of an extra year.

The striker arrived from Leicester City after impressing whilst on-loan at Stoke City during the first half of the current campaign, where he netted 11 times in all competitions.

Having started his career at Everton, Cannon has also enjoyed previously enjoyed a successful stint in the second tier, whilst on-loan at Preston North End.
