United remained patient in the quest to secure their top goalkeeping target of the summer, before Cooper made the move to South Yorkshire, with the Blades paying a significant, undisclosed fee to Plymouth Argyle for his services.

The stopper, who debuted in the first team as an 18-year-old, made a total of 161 appearances for Argyle and chalked up a number of personal and team accolades.

He helped Plymouth win promotion to the Championship, whilst been named in the EFL Team of the Year and collecting numerous Player of the Year awards.
