Chris Wilder returned to Bramall Lane to begin his third spell as United boss following the sacking of Rubén Sellés in September 2025.
A hugely popular figure at S2, Wilder led the Blades to a record-breaking League One title success and automatic promotion to the Premier League, where the club then managed a ninth-placed finish during the Covid affected 2019/20 campaign in his first spell.
Having left in March 2021, Wilder had stints at Middlesbrough and Watford, before returning to the Lane in December 2023, replacing Paul Heckingbottom.
Following relegation from the top-flight, Wilder set about a reset and transformation of the squad and an impressive 2024/25 campaign arguably deserved promotion, only for the Blades to be denied by 100 hauls for both Leeds and Burnley in the regular season, before play-off final heartbreak at the hands of Sunderland at Wembley.
Wilder departed shortly afterwards as the club opted for a different direction, but returned three months later looking to revive the fortunes of a club that were at the foot of the Championship table.
