Ogbene is no stranger to the South Yorkshire region having made his name at Rotherham United, where he was a two-time promotion winner from League One, before leaving the Millers to further his career in the Premier League with Luton Town for a season.

The Republic of Ireland international, who was born in Nigeria, then remained in the top-flight with Ipswich Town and arrives at Bramall Lane on a season-long deal.

He also lists Cork City, Limerick and Brentford amongst his former clubs.
