Richard Stearman has departed Bramall Lane after both parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract.
The agreement now allows the 32-year-old to join Championship club Huddersfield Town.
The former Leicester, Wolves and Fulham ace joined the Blades in July 2017 and made 52 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals in his time at the Lane.
The defender famously netted the winner against Middlesborugh last season as the Blades earned promotion to the Premier League.
During the current campaign, Stearman has made three appearances - all in the cup - scoring one goal.
