Chief executive Stephen Bettis says finishing as high as possible in the Premier League is important to United, given the financial rewards on offer, regardless of possible European qualification.

Bettis says there is a significant sum on offer which would be utilised to strengthen the squad in forthcoming transfer windows, with Prince Abdullah and the board keen to push the club forward in a sustainable way.

'Large sums of money' are being spent on 'assets to the football club' in the eyes of Bettis, with boss Chris Wilder convinced United's scouting system is working for the Blades.

Wilder admits United do it a little differently, conceding that agents run the market in the modern game, although he says the Blades are always comfortable in negotiations.

Stay tuned to sufc.co.uk for the final word from Wilder and Bettis tomorrow.
