United's continued backing of the NHS during the current Covid-19 pandemic has evolved further.
Following the weekly show of support for the NHS and key workers on the frontline at 8pm on Thursday, Bramall Lane's hallowed turf has had an image projected on the playing surface thanking the NHS for all the work they are doing, both locally and across the UK.
The Club has worked closely with PA Entertainments to form the projection, as have others clubs in the region, with operations director Dave McCarthy remarking: "We know many of our supporters will be missing their visits to Bramall Lane and thought it the perfect time to give them a glimpse of the stadium and at the same time show our support for the incredible and brave work of the NHS at this testing time.
"We're acutely aware that many Blades supporters, as well as family and friends, work for the NHS and the thanks and appreciation of everyone connected to the Club goes out to them and all the other key workers and volunteers who are working tirelessly on the front line."
Boss Chris Wilder, speaking to the media earlier this week, added: "It is incredible how everyone has rallied behind the NHS and those key workers who are continuing to go about their business at this difficult time.
"Everyone in every household will have a story and connection with someone working away, whether it's delivery drivers, stuff that's not getting publicised, stuff that is being publicised, people working in the care homes and the hospitals, who are doing an amazing job and who should be looked at and reflected upon throughout this period. We are thankful to them all."
This is the latest show of support from the Club in addition to having previously assisted the NHS and Government in the current pandemic. The Bramall Lane car park continues to be used free of charge by NHS staff, whilst members of United staff have also been given the green light to sign up for the NHS volunteering scheme in lieu of regular day-to-day duties at the Club.
The Club remains in conversation with officials to assist further.
