Experienced midfielder Sophie Walton joined Sheffield United this summer ahead of the new season and arrives at the club with plenty of top level experience behind her.
Walton's first appearance in old Women's Premier League came back in 2005 as a 15-year-old at Leeds United, the club she would spend five years at, culminating in a Premier League Cup win in a starting eleven which included the likes of Ellen White, Carly Telford and Sue Smith.
The midfielder spent the first five years of the new FA Women's Super League with Lincoln Ladies and remained with the club when they relocated to Notts County, playing in the first FA Cup final at Wembley in 2015.
Walton won the last FA WSL 2 title with Doncaster Rovers Belles in 2018 before joining Nottingham Forest where she remained until this summer. The 30-year-old has also represented the Lionesses at every level between Under 15 and Under 23 and her brother Simon had a brief spell on loan at the club before injury cut the move short in 2010.
