Sam Tierney joined Sheffield United Women this season from former WSL 2 club Doncaster Rovers Belles after winning the title with them last season. Tierney's football journey began at Sheffield when she joined United's Regional Talent Centre aged 8. Sam stayed with the Blades for 8 years before moving to the Belles.
A fan favourite, the midfielder won Player of the Season, as voted for by the fans, at Belles last year. Tierney has also represented England Ladies at youth level and has most recently featured with the Under-21s squad.
Sam attends Sheffield Hallam University where she is currently studying Sports Development with Coaching.
