Continental Cup groups

1 September 2020

Sheffield United Women will face familiar opponents when the Continental Cup kicks off in the new season.

Neil Redfearn's Blades have been drawn in Group A alongside fellow Championship sides Coventry United and Durham, as well as Aston Villa who earned promotion from the FA Women's Championship last season.

United faced all three in the group stage last season as the team won their group to set up a tantalising quarter-final with then holders of the competition Manchester City.

While the Blades fell to a 3-1 defeat away at Aston Villa, a thumping 4-0 win away at Durham and a 2-2 draw at home to Coventry United, plus victories over Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers, were enough to see United take top spot.

Full fixtures for the Continental Tyres Cup will be released in due course.

United women kick off their third FA Women's Championship campaign at London City Lionesses on Sunday 6th September (2pm) before returning to the Proact against Leicester City on Sunday 13th September (2pm), a game which will be streamed live on faplayer.thefa.com/home/womens-championship
