Sheffield United have added Blackburn Rovers forward Rhema Lord-Mears to their squad ahead of the second half of the FA Women's Championship season.
The 24-year-old arrives after spending the first half of the season with Rovers who she joined in the summer after a year playing in Belgium with Anderlecht.
The skilful forward can play across the front line or behind the striker and is familiar to Blades manager Carla Ward who played with Lord-Mears at Sheffield FC in the old FA Women's Super League 2.
Lord-Mears was part of the youth teams at both Manchester United and Manchester City as a youngster, leaving the latter to pursue first team football at Sheffield FC.
A player who will add depth to an already impressive United attack, Lord-Mears could make her debut in Sunday's crunch encounter with Aston Villa.
And manager Ward says she's delighted to add another player to her squad ahead of a big second half of the season for her side.
"Rhema has a lot of quality and potential and I think this is an opportunity to really show that, she comes straight in to add competition and depth at an important time."
