Sheffield United Women can confirm six players have left the club as manager Carla Ward continues to shape her squad ahead of the 2019/20 season.
After making her 300th Blades appearance in our final game of last season at Bramall Lane, club legend Tania Marsden has decided to move on after spending over a decade with United.
"Tania deserves a huge amount of recognition for the service she's given to this club," said Ward. "She's someone who's given nothing but 100% in everything she does and it was a pleasure to have an involvement in what has been a fantastic career. I wish her all the very best and I know whatever club gets her signature will be getting not just a good player but a very good person too."
Goalkeeper Nikki Davies has decided to retire after spending the last season of her playing career at Olympic Legacy Park. The 33-year-old has enjoyed a distinguished career which has seen her represent Liverpool, Chelsea and Wales and leaves after making four league appearances for the Blades last season.
Defender Danielle Cox, who scored seven goals in all competitions last season, has decided to pursue a new opportunity abroad and has also departed the club after joining last summer from Sheffield FC, where she played alongside Ward for several seasons.
Nicole Kemp, Georgia Stevens and Jodie Hartley have also left the club ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Ward: "We wish them all the very best and thank them for services to the club on our first season in the Championship."
