Sheffield United have been placed in Group A for the 2019/20 FA WSL Continental Cup alongside four FA Women's Championship rivals and FA Women's Super League side Liverpool.
Aston Villa, who Carla Ward's side faced in the same competition last season, will provide tough opposition once again, with Durham and newly-promoted duo Blackburn Rovers and Coventry United completing the group.
This season's competition kicks off on 21st/22nd September with the fixture list still to be confirmed ahead of the new FA Women's Championship season, which sees United kick things off against Gemma Davies's Villa on Sunday 18th August.
Goals from Danielle Cox and Tania Marsden earned United three points in their Continental Cup encounter at Boldmere St. Michaels last season, but after defeats to Manchester City, Bristol City and Birmingham City, the Blades bowed out at the group stage despite a 3-1 win against Leicester City in the final group match.
With one Championship side definitely qualifying from the group, manager Ward is looking forward to seeing how far her side can go.
"It looks like a strong, competitive group and one I feel all the teams will all be looking forward to having a real chance of getting out of.
"In truth, the cup has never usually been a priority for us but this year this is one we'd like to progress a little further in."
