Ellie Gilliatt says she is 'proud' to have been named captain of United Women.
The defender, a summer recruit from Sheffield FC, is looking forward to leading the Blades into battle as they prepare to compete in the FA WSL 2 this season.
Looking ahead, Gilliatt remarked: "I'm really looking forward to getting going. Captaining the side will be a big responsibility but hopefully we can start with three points.
"We've bonded really well and its shown on and off the pitch. We've got a good togetherness amongst the group."
The vastly experienced performer added: "Having played alongside Wardy at Sheffield FC where she my captain, I know what she'll expect of us as a team and me as captain.
"I'm proud to get this opportunity to lead this bunch of girls and I'm sure we will do well this season.
"We know Durham will be a tough start, they are a strong and physical team, but we are raring to go on Saturday evening."
