Sheffield United Women will make their Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park debut this weekend as they take on Leicester City Women (2pm kick-off, Sunday 4th November).
Leicester City's last fixture against Manchester United was postponed due to the tragic incident that took place at the King Power last weekend, all the thoughts of Sheffield United Football Club go out to Leicester City and the friends and families of those lost.
The Blades go into the FA Women's Championship fixture off the back of an away 1-0 win over Crystal Palace Ladies last Sunday. Boss Carla Ward feels the win has provided a well-needed boost for the team. Having drawn with Leicester in a pre-season friendly, there is understanding as to the strength and depths of the team and it should prove to be a good match.
Playing their first match at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park will be a huge moment for the Blades. As developments continue on a purpose built stadium, this is a great opportunity for fans to get familiar with the location and potential for women's football within Sheffield.
Located on the site of the old Don Valley stadium, the OLP is easily accessible by both car and tram. Parking is available both in and around the ground.
Kick off is 2pm and tickets will be available on the gate, priced just £5 adult, £3 concessions.
The Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is at Attercliffe Common, Sheffield. S9 3TL
