Sheldon Ashton

One of United's 2017 summer signings, Sheldon maybe only 20 but brings a wealth of experience and success to add to the defensive options. Originally a junior at Sheffield Wednesday, Sheldon became a United Centre of Excellence player, developing her skills there for five years until graduating, aged 16.

Sheldon then joined Sheffield FC in June 2014 where she mostly played as central defender for the development team for the next three seasons. At the same time Sheldon continued her studies at the Balby Carr in Doncaster, which continues to produce one of the country's top U18s girls teams. 2015 saw Sheldon reach cup finals with both teams.

Having started studying Sports Development at Hallam University, Sheldon naturally represented the University football team and in the summer 2017 decided to switch her club football by signing for United.

Blades fan Sheldon brings a calm and reliable presence to the centre of defence or centre midfield when required.
