Rachel Ruddach


United's longest serving player and record appearance holder. Beyond that, Rachel is also the epitome of everything United is about and a great ambassador for the club. Was at United's first team on day one having left Sheffield Wednesday Ladies at 21 in the initial group that set up the United team in 2002. Rachel has seen many players come and go over the 15 seasons yet remained a constant factor for United gaining the respect of all her team-mates. Highlights are her three League Cup final victories and 2 Championships, the 2006 and 2012 seasons were league and cup double years. Captain on many occasions and has even been caretaker manager when needed. She played 16 league games last season, though injury caused her to miss the end. Now recovered Rachel, a big Blades fan at heart, has already played in her 15th season with United. Her vast experience helps her to read the game very well as United's holding midfielder though Rachel has probably played in every position on the pitch over the years.
