Behind the scenes, boss Wilder is ably assisted by his assistant Alan Knill, a highly respected coach who managed Rotherham, Bury and Scunthorpe, prior to working with Wilder during their successful time in charge at Northampton Town.
First-team coach Matt Prestridge, is another key member of the backroom team. Having graduated from Loughborough University, Prestridge worked alongside Wilder and Knill at the Sixfields Stadium and like Knill has been instrumental to United's continued success in recent seasons.
Former Wales international Darren Ward, is a vastly experienced and respected goalkeeping coach who has worked with the first-team throughout Wilder's time as boss, having initially joined the club at Academy level.
In the summer of 2016, Paul Mitchell was appointed to head up the Blades restructured recruitment department by Wilder. Formerly a manager on the local non-league circuit, Mitchell previously worked under Paul Cook at Chesterfield and Portsmouth and is now assisted by a considerable band of scouts across the country.
Head of Medical Paul Watson, who lists Gillingham, Fulham, Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion amongst his former clubs as a player, joined the Blades following the club's promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.
Watson and the medical department is reliably assisted by Ruth Titterton, Chris Senior and Paul Evans.
The aforementioned backroom staff is further complimented by Nicky Travis, Lee Rickards, Nathan Winder, Rob Rayner and Lee McMahon, in addition to analysts Mike Allen and Josh Kirk, along with kit manager Carl Hopwood and his assistant Adam Geelan.
