Due to high demand from Special Olympic athletes and their families, unfortunately there are no wheelchair accessible seats left available to purchase.

Special Olympics GB's National Summer Games will be kicked off with this spectacular opening ceremony at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane. It is a showpiece event for the whole family. Special Olympics GB's National Games Opening Ceremony will celebrate 2,600 athletes with intellectual (Learning) disabilities from across England, Scotland and Wales. You must be there for this life enriching event, packed with entertainment.

Iconic singer Tony Hadley will be headlining at the Opening Ceremony.

The show will be hosted by three big name stars - Downton Abbey's Jim Carter, F1 broadcaster Suzi Perry and football pundit Chris Kamara.

Additional entertainment on the night will be provided by the Rationale Theatre Company and will see local talented Yorkshire based artists including 'Under the Stars', 'Autism Plus', 'Team Power Stilts', 'Aim To Dance', 'Kansaze African Dancers', 'Chinese Lion Dancers', 'Dancing Stars', 'Team Katalyst' Acrobats, Gymnasts and the 'ParaCheer' Cheerleaders.

Local Hero James Toseland - former double World Superbike Champion turned rock music artist - will be performing 'We'll Stop at Nothing', the Official 2017 Games Anthem. Supported by Chorus UK.

Special Olympics GB is the largest registered charity providing year round sports training and competition opportunities for people with intellectual (learning) disabilities.

This is the largest disability sports event of 2017 and entry is free to the public for all the sporting action between 8th-11th August 2017.
