United added further competition in attack in August after securing the signature of a proven Premier League and Championship goalscorer, who has been capped by England.

Ings agreed a one-year deal with United, with the option to extend after impressing during a short period of training with the Blades, arriving after leaving West Ham at the end of last season, to end over a decade of plying his trade in the top-flight of English football.

Ings lists Bournemouth, Burnley, Liverpool and Aston Villa as his former clubs and has three England caps to his name.
