It was a night of mixed fortunes for several Blades currently on international duty.

Firstly, Oli McBurnie started for Scotland who are now just one game away from Euro 2020, after they beat Israel on penalties at Hampden Park. John Fleck was an unused substitute.

But unfortunately for John Egan, Enda Stevens and David McGoldrick, the Republic of Ireland were beaten in a shootout against Slovakia in Bratislava.

Sander Berge played 120 minutes for Norway in Oslo, but Serbia won the tie with a late goal in extra time to set up a final against Scotland next month.

Elsewhere, Aaron Ramsdale featured for England U21 in a 3-3 draw in Andorra, whilst Chelsea loanee Ethan Ampadu played over an hour for Wales against England at Wembley, with Rhys Norrington-Davies an used substitute.

Attentions will now turn to Nations League matches for many of the aforementioned players before they return to United next week ahead of the Premier League clash against Fulham.
