United thank fans for their Mission to support local families this Christmas.
Sheffield United would like to thank supporters for their help in raising £3,923.68 for Cash for Kids, Mission Christmas during the game against Manchester United on Sunday. As well as a substantial amount raised, Blades fans also helped in amassing over 500 new toys and gifts on the day that will help ensure local children receive a visit from Santa this Christmas.
The generosity of supporters will go a long way to supporting Cash for Kids, Mission Christmas campaign, with Blades fans supporting Sheffield United's week of action in their thousands, donating new toys and gifts ranging from toy cars to teddy bears and colouring books to Lego.
Allan Ogle, Charity manager for Cash for Kids said "We are absolutely blown away by the generosity of both sets of fans who have donated over 500 gifts and helped raise a significant amount of money to ensure we can help thousands of children living in poverty wake up to gifts on Christmas Day morning."
Jon Helliwell, Sheffield United's Fan Engagement Lead, said: "It's been fantastic to support such a worthwhile campaign this Christmas and even more fulfilling to see so many supporters get behind the initiative. As a club, we carry out a lot of work with our nominated Charities throughout the year and initiatives like this where we can get the support and involvement of our fans, really helps us to drive the charities campaign and support them even further.
"Our attention now turns to the S2 Foodbank where we will be running a week of action from Thursday 28th November until the Newcastle game on Thursday 5th December where, with the support of our fans again, will be collecting new and non-perishable food items to help support struggling families put food on the table this Christmas."
