Billy Sharp says the realisation that Premier League football is coming back to S2 has now sunk in.
The skipper remarked: "I can't wait, it's finally hit home that we're in the Premier League again.
"I couldn't have asked for more than two promotions in three years and now I have another chance at the top-flight with my boyhood club.
"We've got a lot of work to do and we're probably lacking a bit in terms of Premier League experience, but I think we will give it a right good go."
Sharp added: "I don't think we will change too much despite competing in the best league in the world.
"We've tightened up at the back this season and we've kept 21 clean sheets, the most in the league, which is why we've got promoted in my opinion.
"I'm not looking too far ahead, but we definitely believe we're capable of staying up. There will be a lot of games here that have a cup feel to them."
