Former reserve team manager and head scout of Sheffield United, Kevin Randall, has sadly passed away.
Kevin was one Chesterfield’s best loved players, making well over 200 appearances at Saltergate, but he started his career in the Football League with Bury. He also went on to play for Notts County, Mansfield Town and York City, also having spells as manager with both the Minstermen and Spireites.
He came to Bramall Lane as part of Neil Warnock’s backroom staff, lifting the Central League title during his spell in charge of the reserves, before joining Neil at both Palace and Leeds.
His knowledge of the game was invaluable and, during his time with us, he was a much liked and respected member of the Bramall Lane staff.
Although he may never have played for the Blades, his services to the club were both valued and appreciated, he was a true football man. The sincere condolences of the club and the staff who worked with him go out to his family at this sad time.
