The Blades made it four wins out of five this pre-season, after beating local neighbours Barnsley at Oakwell.
A debut goal for Ben Osborn, a double for Callum Robinson and a late strike by Luke Freeman helped United secure a 4-1 victory. Ravel Morrison also featured for the first time for the Blades.
Chris Wilder gave starts to new boys, Dean Henderson and Osborn, with Morrison making his first appearance for United from the bench.
The Blades, in their illuminous third strip, started the better out of time two teams and inside six minutes John Fleck almost made it 1-0 after blocking Sami Radlinger's kick following a back pass.
New signing Robinson looked sharp and in the eighth minute, almost broke the deadlock with a deflected effort from 20 yards. The hosts responded with a few long-distance strikes, which were easily grasped by Henderson.
The Blades' early pressure paid off and opened the scoring in the 20th minute. United won the ball back on the halfway line and after some good work from John Lundstram and Dave McGoldrick, Lundstram delivered the perfect cross from right wing for debutant OSBORN, who came in at the back post to smash the ball past Radlinger.
In a rain soaked Oakwell Stadium, Robinson almost put the Blades two-nil up in the 30th minute. Osborn delivered a cross into the box for Robinson, who struck the ball straight at the Barnsley 'keeper.
Soon after and against the run of play, Barnsley threatened in the 34th minute with a dangerous cross from the left from Luke Thomas, which just missed the incoming striker.
United almost doubled their lead on 41 minutes. Robinson slid a well weighted ball in behind the Barnsley back four to McGoldrick, who hit the crossbar with a powerful strike.
United began the second half well and in the 51st minute, Robinson was brought down by Diaby on the edge of the Barnsley area. Ollie Norwood stepped up to take the free kick but drifted just wide of the right-hand post.
Barnsley levelled the scores in the 54th minute. Mallik Wilks played a neat pass into Cameron McGeehan, who slotted the ball past Henderson.
United re-took the lead just four minutes after the leveler on 58 minutes. Lundstram played the ball into ROBINSON on the edge of the box, who turned and brilliantly whipped the ball past a helpless Radlinger into the bottom corner.
The Blades looked threatening again and on 74 minutes, Freeman burst past the hosts' defence to deliver a measured cross to ROBINSON at the back post, who calmly poked the ball home for his second of the game and United's third.
The scoring was rounded off in the 89th minute after George Baldock pulled the ball back for FREEMAN, who slotted the ball home for United's fourth.
