Chris Wilder wasn't getting carried away despite seeing his Blades climb into the automatic promotion spots following victory over QPR.
David McGoldrick's first-half header proved to be decisive against Steve McClaren's side and the United boss was delighted with a four consecutive victory that saw them leapfrog Norwich City.
He commented: "We'll just keep rolling on, but we're delighted to keep backing up the results and performances from over Christmas.
"The lads have had a break, but they were back at it again and this was a deserved win.
"It was a good performance, we showed a lot of different qualities, it wasn't a free-flowing display, but we'll take the points, it was a big result."
Wilder added: "QPR only lost narrowly at Leeds, they've drawn at Villa and won at Forest, so we knew. We did lots of things right, we were in control, they had a spell after half-time, but then we got back into it.
"I'm pleased for Kieron Dowell coming off the bench and he showed glimpses in what was a real group effort.
"I was critical of them after the Barnet game, but they'd had a decent week's training and it was a jolt to everyone to say we need to do that bit better."
