Blades boss Chris Wilder believes Gary Madine is improving with each appearance as a Blade.
Those sentiments were revealed after the striker bagged his first goals for United, a double in Saturday's emphatic success over Reading at Bramall Lane.
And Wilder was impressed by what he saw and remarked: "Gary has got to keep going and he knows that.
"But Gaz has been outstanding since he walked through the door in terms of his attitude. I told people he wanted to come here and I gave him an enormous amount of credit for wanting to do that.
"It wasn't an easy decision, he had other option, easier ones, but he wanted to make the right decision and we wanted him, that was good enough for me."
Wilder added: "He showed what he was about at Swansea, he started at Norwich and Villa and he's building up. He's not played much football this season but he's getting better and better.
"I was pleased with Scott (Hogan) too, he showed glimpses of what he's about too, he plays on the shoulder and can be in on goal with one ball.
"We've got options, good players trying to get into the team and even the 18 and for me Marvin Johnson, Madine and Hogan are the highlights."
