Chris Wilder says United's performance against Aston Villa on Saturday 1st September 2018 still remains at the forefront of his mind.
But the United chief insists it will count for nothing when the first whistle is blown at Villa Park on Friday evening.
Reflecting on that 4-1 success at Bramall Lane, Wilder remarked: "It was a great day, one of those performances everyone will remember and cherish, people were talking about it being one of the best performances for a long time.
"Everything clicked, everything went our way, we played at the top of our game and with a freedom, we've done that consistently since I arrived and that's what we demand.
"Villa had a bad day and were going through a bad period under Steve. We caught them on a good day and took full advantage, but Friday will be total different."
On the challenge ahead, Wilder added: "It's a change of manager, a change of venue and a change of player, they've got some outstanding talent and Dean (Smith) has had success at this level with Brentford.
"He's a very good manager and obviously he wants to succeed at his boyhood club.
"He's only had the most difficult window to work in to change things round, but he's got a excellent squad and coaching staff, they could easily go on a run of winning five or six games."
