Chris Wilder was delighted to see his side close out Saturday's game at West Brom, to register a deserved and potential decisive victory.
Speaking after the success in the Midlands, the Gaffer remarked: "In terms of game management, I think we've been pretty good in my time here.
"We saw games out well in League One and we've done it in the Championship too, pretty well at times against so really good teams.
"But we're up against some quality opposition, ones who will take chances and have Premier League players who can hurt you."
Wilder added: "But we talk about character and look the at the reaction at the end of one of my players who took a bit of stick at Villa Park, but for me he's been absolutely outstanding.
"We talk about big moments in these big games, he's won us the three points with that save at the end and the character of him and everyone else has been fantastic.
"John (Egan) was suffering with a really tight calf and there are still a dozen games to go, but he'll be OK.
"Cranie will be too, Jack O'Connell was a precaution, because of the tempo of the game. I didn't want to just chuck him, but he should be ready for next Monday."
