Competition for places is key, says Duffy

Mark Duffy insists competition for places in offensive areas will only be of benefit to the Blades in the coming weeks.

Speaking ahead of Friday's clash at Aston Villa, United's experienced playmaker remarked: "Ben (Woodburn) is a young player who will have benefited from his experience here and I'm sure he'll go to have a fantastic career.

"It's the same with Kieron (Dowell), he went out and got some good experience with Forest last season and he's come in to give me a run for my money."

Duffy added: "We're here to help each other though and help the team, if Kieron starts a game or comes on and he's does well then it could help us get the points and that's the main thing.

"If the game isn't going the way we hope, we've got the strength in-depth to change things and the manager has options, he's recruited well and we've players to come on and change a game.

"We have players, who are fantastic players, who aren't even getting on the bench, that's shows how strong the squad is now."
