Billy Sharp was delighted to make an impact off the bench at Bournemouth and hopes his goal at the Vitality Stadium has put him in contention for a start at Bramall Lane on Sunday.
Reflecting on his 88th minute effort that earnt the Blades a share of the spoils on the south coast, the skipper remarked: "I was disappointed I didn't start but we have five good strikers at the club so I think there will be changes at the top of the pitch.
"The strikers are there to score goals and try and win games, so if it needs swapping around to keep us on our toes then that's what it'll be.
"I was just delighted to get on the pitch and pleased I could help the lads out by getting the goal."
On the use of VAR for the first time, Sharp admitted that it never crossed his mind as he set off to celebrate his first top-flight goal.
He added: "I totally forgot about it (VAR) to be honest. When I scored, I didn't even think for a second about it.
"I'm glad there was nothing wrong with the goal otherwise I would have looked stupid.
"It's a learning curve for everyone, but importantly it's about the correct decision being made."
