Chris Wilder insists it's still very much all to play for when United host Millwall at Bramall Lane on Saturday.
Wednesday's draw at Birmingham left the Blades one point and one place behind Leeds with five games remaining.
But Wilder is remaining upbeat about his side's prospects, remarking: "Four points from six on the road is good, it is about an accumulation of points throughout the season, despite feeling a tingle of disappointment from the players and supporters at the final whistle.
"But we have come to a difficult place and I thought it was good enough performance to get a result in a tight game."
Wilder added: "They are difficult to play against and Leeds found it difficult on Saturday, we'll be back in and ready to go against Millwall.
"I can't be a rollercoaster, I can't be jumping through hoops and lower than a snake's belly.
"We've got to control what we can, keep the boys focused and calm and what will be, will be."
