'A great weekend' were the words of Billy Sharp as he reflected on United's promotion back to the Premier League.
The skipper says the events over a memorable weekend will prove to be unforgettable in years to come.
He remarked: "It was a great weekend, it seems strange seeing the stadium empty now, but the emotions and scenes from Saturday onwards has been brilliant to see.
"It was hard having won our game on Saturday, but we couldn't celebrate too hard, despite knowing we'd got the job done.
"It's just nice we had that opportunity to do what we did and with Leeds only getting a draw against Villa it saw our promotion back to the Premier League confirmed.
"We were always going to get together to watch the Leeds game and it was nice that staff from the club were there to celebrate with us."
Sharp added: "John Egan is telling me he is a songwriter now! But it's gone down well with the boys and it's a big reason to why we've succeeded this season.
"The weekend panned out well having beat Ipswich. The awards ceremony was perfect timing because we'd been together all day having watched the Leeds game."
