Ollie Norwood hopes the vocal Bramall Lane faithful will get right behind the players during what could be a tense run-in.
The midfielder understands how much it means to those on the terraces but is urging them to back those on the field.
He remarked: "Sometimes you do hear the moans and groans, but the fans have been fantastic all season.
"They perhaps remember the time when the club hasn't succeeded in big games, but this is a new group of players, staff and we've been nothing but successful together.
"We've had a good season, can we turn it into a brilliant one? But the fans pay their money and are entitled to their opinions, I just try and focus on what's happening on the pitch."
Looking ahead to facing Nottingham Forest on Good Friday, Norwood added: "We keep coming up against these out of form teams, who then seem to cause us a lot of problems.
"Forest is a fantastic club with a rich history. They've got a quality squad, a high-profile manager and assistant, who will have hoped to have been a lot closer to the top six.
"We weren't at it at their place and deserved to lose the game, but it will be tough, every game will be between now and the end of the season."
