David McGoldrick felt scoring early in the Easter Monday success at Hull City was crucial in a such an important game.
Speaking in the aftermath of the win at the KCOM Stadium, the experienced forward, who bagged a brace to take his tally for the season to 15th, admitted his headed opener settled a few nerves.
He remarked: "It's a great win and everyone knows at this stage of the season it's all about getting the points.
"But it was a great day all round. We produced an excellent first-half performance and defended as a team in the second.
"We're all human and we all know the situation. Everyone is looking at the scores of others and that's the human thing to do.
"People talk about things, there will be nerves, but all we are trying to do is play our game and getting the early goal helped."
McGoldrick added: "We were in full control thereafter and we thoroughly deserved the points. I'm happy a shot from outside the box found the net too, because the majority of found row Z!
"My job is to score goals and create them and I want to continue doing that for a good number of years.
"I can't complain, it's gone so well, but I had a special feeling when I signed, it's easy to say now, but I really did and I thought everything would suit me here."
