Sheffield United are pleased to announce that the club have achieved Family Excellence for the 2018/19 season for a second consecutive year.
A number of Clubs across the EFL have achieved Family Excellence status this season, for the remarkable work carried out in engaging families on matchdays. The record-breaking number of 63 Clubs, up from 56 in 2017/18, recognises continuous improvement and best practice in family engagement across the leagues and supports Clubs' efforts to attract and retain young fans of the future.
Every year, each EFL club receives two 'Mystery Family' visits throughout the season, with their feedback and reports determining whether each respective Club is to achieve 'Family Excellence' status. As a result of receiving two excellent reports, as well as receiving Family Excellence, the Blades have also been crowned as the Club with the 'Most Improved Family Experience' for the 2018/19 season out of the 72 EFL Clubs.
Operations Director, Dave McCarthy said: "It's fantastic to have been recognised for the hard work that has gone into enhancing our Family Experience this season.
"The appointment of Jon Helliwell, our Families and Juniors Coordinator, has played a key role in this and significantly helped us to take our Family Experience to a new level this season, with the addition of a number of new schemes and initiatives on both matchdays and non-matchdays.
"I would also like to thank colleagues from our many other departments within the club and I am pleased they have been recognised for their hard work by winning this prestigious award.
"We've already put together a number of plans for next season and look forward to continuing to expand upon our Family Experience."
