'The dream is so close', was George Baldock's reaction following Saturday's victory over Ipswich Town at Bramall Lane.

With United on the verge of promotion to the Premier League, the wing-back was delighted the Blades had seen off Paul Lambert's side

He commented: "We're one step closer, hopefully we can now sit back, watch Leeds on Sunday and have it mathematically confirmed.

"It would have been naïve to think this was going to be easy, every game in this division is tough and Ipswich have some really good players.

"We knew it would be difficult and we'd have to be at our best. We brought a lot to the table and there was only going to win it, that second goal killed it."

Baldock added: "We knew an early goal would settle the nerves, but we're so mentally strong, we've stood up to every task and it's been a brilliant few weeks.

"The atmosphere was unreal, it's surpassed all my expectations and it's what the club deserves.

"The dream is so close, we'd be unfortunate not to get over the line now, but I'll be much happier when that 'P' is next to our name."
