Chris Wilder heaped praise on David McGoldrick following his decisive goal in Saturday's success over Preston North End.
The Blades boss remarked: "It was fully deserved. I said after Bristol City that if David (McGoldrick) had scored one or two at Aston Gate it would have been a 9/10 performance.
"His general all-round play and work ethic has been outstanding, he is a team player, but like all forwards he'll get judged on goals and he would have been disappointed not to score at Bristol.
"But if there was someone who deserved to get that winner in front of the Kop it was David and we're delighted for him."
Wilder added: "Marvin (Johnson) has done well, he came on and gave us that drive on the left, Enda (Stevens) was excellent all afternoon and showed that composure which was crucial to us scoring a goal that was much needed at that time.
"I'm quite happy to be sitting in fourth after nine games, we will keep working hard and there are plenty of lessons for both myself, the staff and the players from the last week or so, from team selection to not having to win games twice."
