John Egan sees no reason why the Blades can't build further on a 'positive' start.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's trip to The Den to face Millwall, the Republic of Ireland centre-half believes fourth-placed United can improve further in the coming weeks.
He remarked: "It's been a really positive start. We're up and around the top of the division, where we want to be.
"We took time to gel, but after the first two games we've turned things around and won five games since.
"The break came at a bad time for us, we played well at Bristol and got nothing, before getting a draw at home to Birmingham.
"Preston are a tough side to play against, but thankfully we got the three points in the end, which was a really good result."
Egan added: "The manager is demanding we improve all the time and if we can learn and win games at the same time that would be fantastic.
"There are positives and negatives in every game, even from a win you can pick the bones from it and work on areas to improve on."
