Chris Wilder has hinted at making changes for Wednesday night's clash against Birmingham City at Bramall Lane.
And the Blades boss is hopeful of fitness boost ahead of the clash against Garry Monk's Blues.
Wilder remarked: "John (Fleck) will do a clearance session on Tuesday and hopefully he comes through that and is available for selection. Paul (Coutts) played 90 minutes for the U23s on Monday afternoon so that's another positive.
"In the short-term we're looking forward to welcoming John back into the side, he's been part of the decent start we've enjoyed and he was outstanding again Bolton and Aston Villa.
"Paul is edging ever closer and when he's ready and everything is right he'll push for a place in the team again."
On possible changes to his starting XI, the Blades boss added: "Marvin (Johnson) was a positive change on Saturday, so was Conor (Washington) and these are players that be involved pretty shortly, they certainly add quality and depth to the group.
"Whether we change for Wednesday night or the weekend, there will be changes and this is the reason we strengthened in the window to make us stronger and give us options.
"Leon is another one pushing for a recall and we're just pleased to be in a position now that we've got a group capable of getting results, regardless of who is selected."
