Chris Wilder had nothing but praise for the application and desire his players showed in dominating Stoke City at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.
Despite the unfortunate setback of conceding a late equaliser, Wilder was delighted by the performance his team produced.
He remarked: "I thoroughly enjoyed the game, watching from the touchline and several supporters could see it too as they stayed behind to applaud the lads off.
"We've no right to be anywhere near the likes of Derby County and Stoke City, but we're above them because of what we've produced consistently out on the green bit."
The boss also reserved a special mention for Leon Clarke, following his first goal of the season.
Wilder added: "His general all-round play and link up with David (McGoldrick) was outstanding.
"It was nothing against Bill, we knew we might have to take him for a game and rest him to get him right again and that's why we've got options within the group.
"I'm just pleased Leon got a goal, he'll be judged by that and hopefully now he's up and running again, because he's an important player for us."
