Chris Wilder was keen to reserve special praise for two of his strikers, following Saturday's 'deserved win' at Millwall.
Skipper Billy Sharp opened the scoring before the break, having earlier been denied from the spot-kick, whilst David McGoldrick's late brace proved decisive at The Den, much to the delight of the boss.
He remarked: "Billy was equally as disappointed with the chance his missed, just after the penalty, but give the goalkeeper credit he made a fabulous save.
"His general play is as good as it has been in my time here, he looks after himself, has an excellent work ethic and is still amongst the goals.
"Kieron (Freeman) was outstanding, as was Enda (Stevens), but we believe in them all and this is our way and this is how we will win by grinding the opposition down, Billy has been central to that."
Wilder added: "David has a great attitude and his character is fantastic, he's also a good player and they settle quickly in a team full of other good players.
"They don't time to gel, we've got some talented boys as we've shown with the composure on the ball, the goals we've scored and the chances we've created.
"But you have to add the work ethic, honesty and commitment to it to pull a shirt on and it was a deserved win at a tough place to come."
