Chris Wilder is urging his team and the Blades faithful to be patient when Hull City arrive at the Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The Blades boss expects Nigel Adkins's side to come to S2 to try and frustrate his team and Wilder is hoping for continued backing from the terraces.
He remarked: "They've obviously not had the results they'd have wanted, but look through the squad list and the money they paid for them, shows they've got quality players having come down two years ago.
"They've got a lot of really good individual players and when they clicked last season they took some really good teams to the cleaners, particularly away from home.
"It's a common message I've sent out and I know the players listen and supporters too, we'll roll it back to the Birmingham game."
Wilder added: "People said it was a miserable performance from us, but look at their quality, the players they've got and the money they've paid out, Hull are the same, they've got a lot of talent within the group.
"I don't think they will come and open up and go for the win, they will sit back, invite us on and try and frustrate the crowd.
"We might need the crowd to be the most patient it has ever been for a long, long time at home, because they will frustrate and try and catch us with pace on the counter attack."
