Kieron Freeman is confident the Blades can continue the momentum they built before the international break in the coming weeks.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's Sky live clash at his former club Derby County, Freeman believes United are better equipped now than when they hit the Championship summit last season.
He remarked: "We're more experienced now, having had a full season in the Championship and we know every game in this division is a tough game.
"We're growing as a team and we just have to keep improving individually and collectively, to get better and better.
"We've played our system for a long time now, we know how to play against and we also back ourselves against anyone who come and match us up, it almost suits us."
The 26-year-old added: "We know that formation better than most teams in the league, but when we're at our best I'd back us against anyone to be honest.
"Derby are doing well, but so are we, it will be a really good game I would imagine.
"My family are still season tickets holders at the City Ground, so I still keep an eye out for Forest's results, but slowly they are turning into Blades!"
