Jack O'Connell believes the Blades are better equipped now to build on another encouraging start to a Championship campaign.

The Blades enter Saturday's clash at Rotherham in fourth position and know a victory over Paul Warne's side will send them back to the top of the table.

Looking ahead, the influential defender, who enjoyed a brief loan stint with the Millers, remarked: "I'm feeling in a good place and we've had another positive start like we did last season. Hopefully this time we can keep it going.

"We've been playing well without picking up the points we deserved, now after the break we need to make sure we're getting the points on the board.

"We were excellent against both Stoke and Wednesday, but we only took two points from those games, we were perhaps a bit naïve against Stoke, but I'm sure the points will come if we continue to perform."

O'Connell added: "We faded away a bit in the second-half of last season, but we've grown as players, we've got physically stronger and the staff work tirelessly behind the scenes on the small details.

"We struggled at the start of the season, but we've clicked in the weeks since, we worked hard on a daily basis as a back three and a back five against the strikers and through repetition you improve."
