Chris Wilder says the hard work has already begun behind the scenes as the manager looks to bolster his squad with quality in the coming weeks.

The United boss remarked: "We've been looking at it for a while now and now we've got a number to work to, but as I've always said and done, I will get the maximum out of that number.

"We're looking for quality additions now, we're not going to be making big changes, given a lot of players have got that last year under their belt.

"The likes of Fleck, Stevens, O'Connell, Evans, Brooks, Lundstram will all be better for a season in the division and if we add a bit more to it then we will be in a stronger position."

On possible comings and goings in the transfer market, Wilder added: "There have been a couple of offers for certain available players and as always we will make the right decisions for Sheffield United, as we try and keep a trim and healthy squad.

"There are going to be a few casualties, but we have to make sure the deals of right for us as much as the player.

"We're keeping options open in terms of players coming in and thankfully we've got everyone tied up, especially our assets."
