Chris Wilder wants to look forward not back, after committing himself to the cause until the summer of 2021 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Blades boss, in addition to four of his backroom staff have agreed contract extensions, meaning he can now focus on on-field issues.
Wilder remarked: "I work with the owners and the chief executive in an honourable and respectable manner, but I'm here to be the manager of the football club.
"I have to run things past them of course I do, but recruitment and selection decisions are down to me and my staff, that'll always be the case.
"We're looking to add quality additions to a talented group of players, who thrived in the Championship last season, attacking the division and playing in a enjoyable fashion.
"We've got a lot more experience of the division now, but to move us forward we have to add quality."
The Blades boss added: "I've got a job to do and the existing players needed to know I was going to be here for them and also to show them the direction we want to go.
"I want us to kick on and now this is concluded I want to focus purely on football matters, an exciting pre-season and another season in the Championship.
"We'll get the maximum out of the budget and we'll be diligent as we've always been. I'm grateful that the owners have found money to improve the budget I've been given to work with."
